Emergency Management Coordinator John Sheridan said authorities estimated about 640 gallons spilled at the intersection of the two roads. Clean-up efforts took several hours.
Fire units remained on scene for hazmat containment and fire suppression while FAA representatives conducted their investigation. All companies cleared the scene at approximately 3:30 PM once the plane had been uprighted.
Two occupants from the plane were transported to local hospitals; one by Hillsborough Rescue Squad (Station 79) and the other by Northstar Medevac helicopter.

Hillsborough Stations 37 and 38 and Hillsborough Rescue Squad (Station 79) were dispatched at 2:56 PM for a water rescue on Cain Drive in Station 38’s primary area. Heavy thunderstorms in the area resulted in a flooded roadway on Cain Drive where a motorist attempted to drive through the flooded roadway. Additionally, several homes on Cain Drive experienced flooded basements when high water reached the basement windows.
Hillsborough Stations 36 and 38 were dispatched at approximately 4:30 PM to a field fire near Green Lane in Montgomery Township in Station 45’s primary area. Station 38 initially responded with Brush 38 and Tanker 38 with a subsequent call for Engine 38-104 to provide additional manpower.
