At 11:58 AM, Hillsborough Fire Co. # 3 (Station 38) responded with Montgomery Fire Co. # 1 (Station 45) to Township Line Road in the area of Ivy lane for the reported smell of natural gas. Upon arrival, a strong order of gas was detected.  Members of Stations 38 and 45 checked the basements of the homes in the area of the leak to ensure none of the leaking gas had entered the houses. Both companies stood by while PSE&G located the leak and dug up the street to fix the broken gas pipe. The leak was stopped at approximately 5:00 PM.   Hillsborough OEM was also on location in case the gas main needed to be shut down and shelter was needed for the residents.
