The Hillsborough Fire District was dispatched at 9:18 AM to a garbage truck fire on Kilmer Drive in Station 38’s primary area. Responding units included Engines 36-101, 37-103 and 38-104, along with Tanker 38 and Special Services unit 38-151. When firefighters arrived on scene, the garbage truck’s driver had already dumped the contents on the roadway. There was no extension to the truck and it took about an hour to totally extinguish the fire.
The Hillsborough Fire District (Stations 36, 37 and 38) was dispatched at 8:00 am to a structure fire at 6 Fisher Drive in Station 37’s primary area. Also responding were Hillsborough Bureau of Fire Safety, the Hillsborough Rescue Squad, the Manville Fire Department and the Finderne Fire Department. The fire is believed to have started in the basement and subsequently spread to the first floor. The residents of the single-family house were home at the time of the fire and exited safely. The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished.
